June 26, 2012 | Scion Acquires Soft Tissue Marker with FDA Marketing Clearance from Kent Medical Devices, Inc.

June 26, 2012 – Newton, Massachusetts. Scion Medical Technologies, LLC (Scion), a company that manufactures and sells products in the general surgery area, announced today that it has acquired a soft tissue marker product line with FDA marketing clearance from Kent Medical Devices, Inc. of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

“The Kent Medical Devices soft tissue marker product line bolsters our growing portfolio of biopsy products. The Kent tissue marker was designed for improved visibility under ultrasound imaging, while also offering visibility under mammographic imaging.  We feel that the addition of this product to the Cassi II biopsy line significantly strengthens the suite of products that we can offer to doctors focused on ultrasound imaging of the breast,” said Scion’s CEO, Joseph Siletto. “We intend to complete additional product configurations and launch the product commercially early next year.” The acquisition represents Scion Medical Technologies’s third product line acquisition in the past 8 months.
