October 20, 2011 | Scion Acquires Cassi II Breat Biopsy Product from Sanarus Technologies, LLC
October 20, 2011 – Newton, Massachusetts. Scion Medical Technologies, LLC (Scion), a company that manufactures and sells products in the general surgery area, announced today that it has acquired the Cassi II™ line of breast biopsy products from Sanarus Technologies, LLC of Pleasanton, California.
“We are extremely excited to add Cassi II to our product portfolio,” said Scion’s CEO Joseph Siletto. “Cassi II is a truly unique, elegantly designed, reliable product for breast biopsy that we believe both patients and physicians appreciate for its quiet functionality, ease of use and portable, ergonomic design. Additionally, Cassi is not burdened by large, expensive capital equipment associated with vacuum-based biopsy systems that share the same reimbursement as Cassi. We look forward to bringing Cassi II back to the U.S. market and to broadening its global reach in China and other key markets.”
